My teaching approach is I usually go over what it is they understand and don’t understand to asses the situation. Make sure the basics are covered before going into the more complicated subject matter. And if there is ever something I don't Understand i just need to take a look at the book where we can figure it out together and I explain it in a way they will comprehend.
