My teaching methods rely on challenging my students to step out of their comfort zones, try new techniques and subjects. I expect students to bring an open mind and be ready to experiment, but I'm flexible in how we approach our lessons.
I base my classes around finding out what my student's strengths and weaknesses are and what I can help them improve. I'll also take into account what program they are interested in and what skills they will need to create a strong portfolio in that discipline.
My artistic background is based in traditional art, cartooning, and animation. My work is highly character and story related and I bring those sensibilities into my teaching.
I'm an Animation Student entering the 3rd year of my program. I've been working independently as an illustrator on the side and want to break into teaching. I've been sharing my skills with friends for years. In the last year, I spent some time advising younger students and found a passion for helping others develop their skills. I have experience with Arts and Craft Programming through volunteer opportunities which have helped me to identify and address individual learners' needs.
