My teaching methods rely on challenging my students to step out of their comfort zones, try new techniques and subjects. I expect students to bring an open mind and be ready to experiment, but I'm flexible in how we approach our lessons.
I develop a unique program for each student, considering the student's strengths and weaknesses and what I can help them improve. I'll also take into account what the student's personal goals and interests are, and guide them in developing the specific skills that will aid them in achieving those goals.
My artistic background is based in traditional art, cartooning, and animation. My work is highly character and story related and I bring those sensibilities into my teaching. I'll provide the instruction for art fundamentals, exercises, helpful resources, challenges that promote creative thinking, and an individual experience tailored to the student's interests.
I'm a 3rd Year Animation production student and independent illustrator.
I have experience with Arts and Craft Programming through volunteer opportunities which have helped me to identify and address individual learners' needs. In college, I have spent some time advising younger students and found a passion for helping others develop their skills.
Since the start of Summer, I have been tutoring over the web. I have found success in mentoring a couple of students interested in a future in the animation industry. I've helped students to design characters and backgrounds, explore gesture and anatomy studies, and to discover a clearer picture of the work they would like to pursue.
