Bachelor's Degree in secondary education and over 15 years of experience in tutoring essay writing, reading comprehension, and literature analysis in Edmonton at the University of Alberta

Methodology

Using explicit instruction, I guide and support students throughout a step-by-step writing process, which begins with reading comprehension strategies, annotation, and analysis and ending in writing drafts for paragraph and essay assignments. The end goal for students is internalizing this process through repetition and practice no matter the type of text (essay, short story, novel, film, poetry, image) they are studying or the level of education they have.

Background

I have been tutoring children, teens, and adults for 18 years. Each term, I have between 15 and 25 students, depending on the time of year and the needs of students. Thanks to my tutoring, my students' grades have improved between 15 and 25 % when they consistently learn and apply the strategies, tools, and resources I give them.
