I start off each session by asking my student what overlying concepts he/she is struggling with. I don't like to delve into questions right away without pinpointing what exactly is the source of confusion for my students. After having cleared up any confusion about the general concepts, I ask my student what specific questions he/she is struggling with. When I'm helping the student solve the question, I really focus on the visual techniques that can be employed. Drawing graphs and diagrams is something I often do when helping my student answer a specific question. In the last few mins of class, I verbally remind the student the specific step-by-step process we went through to answer the questions of focus, to ensure the student has a thorough understanding of what we did and why we did it.
I am currently completing my first year of B.B.A. After having completed various high school math courses myself, I have realized that to do well in high school math, you do not need to be a "genius". You need a teacher that can explain concepts in a way that best compliments the your learning style. Having offering private tutoring sessions to various aged students in math, I know very well how to adjust my teaching style to best support my student's learning style.
My rate will remain constant regardless of any factor.
