Having tutored a diverse group of individuals, I begin lessons/tutoring by figuring out the current place and goals for the student. I am super involved with lessons, and usually work with simple tasks (eg., Homework, studying) for the first few lessons to understand what the needs are, and where potential weaknesses are. Following this, the lessons become more informal and move with the students' needs.
I have been tutoring for a decade, having taught a few students a year (based on free-time). Students that I have tutored have gone from C/D+ grades to B/A grades in a few months. I have tutored some university students, with more time spent working with oral/written comprehension, with grades improving to Honours levels.
I do not travel, as all lessons are done online since I travel a lot. Lessons must be cancelled at least 12 hours in advance, or full-price must be paid, unless able to change to a time when I am available. (I am often busy and have to plan out days accordingly).
