Earned the BA in Biology, with Teaching Credentials, at Berea College, (Berea, KY); Received the MS in BioScience, with emphasis in Genetics, at Eastern Kentucky University, (Richmond, KY); Earned an additional 45 quarter hours from Miami of Ohio (Oxford, OH) in the Department of Zoology, where I taught 8 quarters of Anatomy and Physiology Labs, and 1 quarter of Special Diversity Lab.
As a college student, I taught adults to read and write as part of an adult literacy program, Student Taught Basic Literacy Effort (STABLE,) in Four Kentucky Counties via an outreach program sponsored jointly by the Council of the Southern Mountains and Berea College.
After college, taught high school students to appreciate the science of living things including basic biology, BSCS Biology, Advanced Biology, which included some genetics, microbiology, biochemistry, and tutoring students for taking the Advanced College Placement Tests for Biology (in which all 5 of my students received between 18-21 college credit hours in Biology and Science!) Taught 8 quarters of Anatomy and Physiology Lab Courses and 1 quarter of Species Diversity at Miami of Ohio University. Have also tutored students having difficulty in courses in Biology, Microbiology, Nutrition, and Physiology. Latest teaching experience outside of academia was the course development and the teaching of several DB2 Database Administration courses to IBM Customers in various locations in the US.
