Types of Fitness Classes

There are so many fitness clubs it would be hard to list them all here. You can, however, break them into 4 main categories for the general person. Most people will either train with a personal trainer, group class, unique class or a traditional gym. Each of these will have its own benefits. They won't all be for everyone. Each one of you reading this is going love or hate one. Again, it's about finding the one you love.

Personal Training

Personal Training is becoming increasingly popular over the last decade, but it's for good reason. Hiring a personal trainer is one of the most effective ways of reaching your fitness goals or staying in shape. Your trainer is your guide book. They have all the answers for you to reach your goals in the gym. Your trainer will help you stay consistent in the gym. They're going to work with you to find a fitness program you enjoy.

Group Training

Group training is like personal training except you're with a small group of people. Your still under the guidance of a trainer you just don't get the one on one attention. Group training can be a great way to meet people and it helps make the workout more enjoyable . You have someone else going through the same thing as you. Your group trainer will be able to put together an effective workout the whole class can benefit from.

Unique Fitness Classes

Unique fitness classes can be considered as TRX, Zumba, Pilates, Bungee, or any other class that's in the non-traditional fitness sense. You're going to have the same benefits as group training, You're under the guidance of a trainer and your trainer will be able to meet the needs of everyone in the group. Unique classes provide an edge. Depending on the class it may not even feel like you're working out, you'll be having too good of a time to notice. I've seen a couple of Zumba classes and everyone is smiling while getting a good workout in.

Traditional Gym

This is a traditional fitness facility. They have free weights, machines, barbells, and cardio equipment. It's not for everyone to work out by yourself and around other people. For some of you, I'm sure you've been this type of gym before and didn't like it, I don't blame you. This style of the gym is great for people that just want to work out. They just want to follow their own style of training and they can do that effectively at a traditional gym.

Feeling tense or sore after a workout? Try a massage. Massages are a great way to reduce muscle soreness by getting out unwanted knots and creating more blood flow to the sore area. They're also a great way to relax or a great escape after a long day. If you've never had a massage, I highly recommend it. Your body feels amazing after and you really do feel less stressed

The sauna is another great way to relax after a workout. Sitting in a sauna can reduce soreness after a hard workout. The sauna also has many other benefits such as reducing stress, flushing toxins, cleansing the skin and improving sleep quality. Every sauna place you visit should have a shower and change room. It's recommended that you're in the sauna for only 15-20 minutes. This isn't a long time for the number of benefits you receive.

Nutritional Counseling

One of the factors to reaching your fitness goals is eating right. Nutritional counselling can be a great way to find an eating style that suits your needs best. Your counsellor will be able to determine the foods you need to eat to reach your goals as well as overall feel better. They can teach you about eating that will benefit you for a lifetime. Everyone can benefit from a nutritional counsellor.

All these other fitness services provide an experience that will benefit you. If you have access to a sauna, massage, or nutritional counselling take advantage of them. You'll notice some great benefits and feel amazing as well.

You can usually find me writing at a cafe sipping on coffee or working out at the gym. I fell in love with writing a few years ago and have never looked back. I love being able to share my words with the world.
