About the lesson
My method of teaching involves tailoring lesson plans for each of my students by finding the exact things they can improve on, and teaching them to practice these things, while still enjoying themselves and taking the time to learn the songs, licks and riffs they want to learn.
As an instructor, I understand the difference between knowledge and information, in that information is memorized, whereas knowledge is retained, and is a part of you. Many instructors will overload their students with information but dont give them the time or space to truly understand it, which creates knowledge. I believe this is very harmful to the learning process, and inhibits people from finding their own artistic voice. This is why I implore my students to make music for the sake of making music, listen and explore all the different sounds and see what sounds good to them, not just take down notes and memorize the things that sounded good to someone else.
I want to help students of all levels find their own personal voice through exploration and discovery, then in connecting that voice to the musical language.
