If I'm working one-on-one I like to get a sense of the level I'm teaching at based on student's needs. In a group, I find that playing group games and using workbooks with paired exercises is a good way to get everyone practicing together. Assigning Spanish dialogue activities where students have to write their own script and present in front of the class is also an effective way for students to have fun and learn.
I grew up and went through most of my schooling in Mexico. I'm fluent in English and Spanish, and learned to read and write in Spanish. I have 11 years of bilingual schooling under my belt and I lived life speaking, reading and writing Spanish every day. My academic background involves an English Literature degree from UBC Vancouver and five years of work experience as a digital communications specialist. In my roles, I have often been asked to translate technical documents from English to Spanish or Spanish to English.
Some students may require additional tutoring time, and we can approach each student's needs on a case by case basis.
