I base my classes on what part of IELTS I am teaching. In oral classes, we cover possible answers to questions in part 1, 2 and 3. Since most students have difficulty with part 2, I teach them how to use the one minute preparation time and possible answers while stressing content, fluency, vocabulary and pronunciation. If writing, I find most students have difficulty with part 1 and don't know the order to use to write the answers so we study the different forms of graphs and how to organize their answers. I have always striven to have relaxed classes and welcome input from students.
I am a Canadian with over 10 years experience teaching ESL and IELTS in China. I have also taught foreign students online. Since Chinese teachers usually taught reading and listening, my strength is in speaking and writing, although I have occasionally taught reading and listening. Prior to teaching in China, I taught new Canadians and also worked for a tutoring service. Originally, I trained as a reporter and worked freelance for several publications, so have a good command of the English language.
