My teaching method is flexible, what I mean here is I have my own session plan each time before the class, but the sequence can be changed if there is any special needs from the students, such as if the majority of the class want to have more hip opener practice today, then hip opening postures will be added in more if there is not enough in my plan. Normally the class will start from a 3 to 5 minutes pranayama breathing exercise and meditation to allow the awareness to come on to the mat and to calm the mind, and before the final pose-- savasana, another pranayama practice will be done, aiming to cleansing the energy channel. What's more, my disease (scoliosis) has made me focus more on posture alignments, thus, I pay more attention of how to protect the body from being injured in both self practice and teaching. I always believe that to make the movement follow by the breath, once get into the posture in the right alignment, then students can go deeper to the pose only if they are capable. And all levels are available. Props will be provided.
I am qualified yoga teacher holding certificate IV yoga teaching 800 hours. I graduated from Byron Yoga center this year in August. And have been teaching yoga for one year during the teacher training course. My personal practice started at the age of 12 and never stopped after that. Yoga to me is not only about the asana (physical movement), but also how to connect to the inner self and the outside world. I have been diagnosed with scoliosis when I was 10 years old in double curve of the spine. It was the yoga practice that helped me went through all those panic moments this disease brought to me. My passion is to share with every one who keen on yoga or even you just want to have an exploration of what exactly yoga is. But I guarantee once you start, you will come back to the mat again!
