About the lesson
I am exceptional at helping students struggling with math. I never make them feel they are slow learners. I make math understandable by using real-world examples. I help them understand difficult homework problems and prepare for upcoming exams. I am very patient and enjoy helping students grow in their knowledge at their own pace.
A tutoring session is usually split into two sections. The first section will deal with any urgent homework tasks. The second section focuses on conceptual learning, which is done with the time left over after completing assignments.

My name is Kelvin. I hold a Bachelor's degree (Hons) in Physics and a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics. I have been teaching mathematics for over 14 years and working with a wide variety of students. I have an in-depth knowledge of mathematics and am well-versed in delivering engaging online lessons. Kelvin is a fantastic tutor. He is positive, energetic, and supportive. He explains concepts clearly and is very patient with his students. I have really struggled with basic mathematics over the last few years. Kelvin has helped me build my confidence in the basics and provided me with examples applicable to real-life situations. He has taken me through problems step-by-step and helped me gain a good understanding of the methods needed to solve them. He is very patient and understanding of what I would like to achieve from my sessions with him. I would highly recommend him as a tutor!
Kelvin is a great Algebra tutor! My son started out not understanding anything he was learning in class and after working with him for 5 lessons, he is now caught up with his class and understands it perfectly. He feels much more confident and doesn't dread Algebra now. He will continue to work with Kelvin as his teaching style mixed with the one-on-one really helps him.
We couldn't be happier with Kelvin. If I could I would give him 6 stars! He has great knowledge of a wide range of math topics. Most importantly he makes math fun. Our son says his positive energy is infectious; he now looks forward to his classes… even during the summer holidays. He's done a fantastic job getting our son ready for the 9th grade. We will definitely use him during the school year to continue to give him a boost.

When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?
I have had an innate passion for mathematics from my primary school days. I was always in the lead in my class and received the best mathematics student award. I organized free maths tutorial classes for my classmates struggling with maths in secondary school. I continued helping students who needed support in maths as an undergraduate student and started getting favors from them in appreciation for helping them. The kind favor I received now serves as great motivation for me to continue doing the good work of assisting anyone struggling with mathematics.

What makes you passionate about your subject?
I want to see students who once struggled with mathematics become masters. I want them to see maths as a lovable subject. I want them to be well prepared to succeed in math effortlessly by understanding the underlying concepts.

What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?
What I like about tutoring is seeing my tutees with a clear understanding of concepts that once looked opaque to them in maths. I have helped 100% of my students succeed in maths. That makes me a Superprof.

One of my mathematics lecturers during my undergraduate studies was a great inspiration. He practically made mathematics fun for me. His classes were never boring for once, and I never studied so hard to pass his courses because his lectures were crystal clear. He automatically became my role model as I fell in love with teaching.

The keys to my success include but are not limited to these: patience, passion, strong interpersonal relationships, good communication, punctuality, respect for others, quick understanding, etc.
