About Valerie
I have over 10 years of experience teaching chemistry at multiple levels, holding a B.Sc in Chemistry and an M.Sc in Chemical Technology. My journey has focused on helping students develop conceptual clarity, analytical reasoning, and practical skills in understanding and applying chemical principles.
I teach using a hands-on, student-centered approach, combining visual aids, laboratory simulations, problem-solving exercises, and scenario-based applications. Students are encouraged to explore independently, ask questions, and develop a deep understanding of chemical concepts.
Outside teaching, I remain engaged with current research, laboratory innovations, and industry applications in chemistry. Integrating these insights into lessons ensures relevance, practicality, and inspiration for students. Chemistry is the science that explains how matter behaves, transforms, and interacts. My lessons cover a wide range of topics, including atomic theory, molecular bonding, reaction mechanisms, thermodynamics, kinetics, spectroscopy, and analytical techniques. I emphasize conceptual understanding through demonstrations, visual explanations, real-world examples, and guided problem-solving. Each session is designed to make complex principles tangible and understandable, building both competence and curiosity in learners.
Lessons are customized for each student. Beginners focus on atomic structures, bonding, basic reactions, and simple laboratory techniques. Intermediate learners explore reaction kinetics, equilibria, organic synthesis pathways, and analytical problem-solving. Advanced learners tackle spectroscopy, complex organic and inorganic synthesis, thermodynamic calculations, and research-based applications. Each session integrates exercises, discussions, and step-by-step guidance, reinforcing learning and independent problem-solving.
