I am currently a first year dental student looking to teach secondary and GCSE level chemistry and maths.
My methods of teaching are simple and therefore, easy to follow as well as being informative. My aim is to increase the confidence of my pupils in these two subjects as I know how frustrating and not to mention how easy it can be to fall behind in class. My methods focus more on my pupils understanding of the subject, rather than just bombarding them with information and I prefer to go through topics step by step to ensure that everything is understood. I enjoy teaching, as much like the career path I am following I find it incredibly rewarding.
As I have only just left school I understand how boring and tedious lessons can be and therefore, I aim to inject some fun into my sessions.
My current experience lies in tutoring family friends as I found I did not have much spare time during sixth form to be able to expand this field. I have also tutored students in the years below me at school as I was a mentor in sixth form and have therefore offered support and additional help to those who were struggling. In my experience I have boosted the confidence of my pupils and inspired them to want to do better in order to achieve those top grades. Everyone I have tutored has been at either secondary or GCSE level and so I feel most comfortable teaching to these years.
I am currently studying dentistry at the University of Manchester, however, I am interested in undertaking some part time work during my time here.
Budgens supermarket Wendover - working as a customer sales assistant, I helped out on the tills, stacked shelves and assisted customers.
Marks and Spencer Aylesbury - working as a customer sales assistant, I assisted on the tills, stacked shelves and provided good customer service.
