Methodology

The teaching method used is a flexible "Student-Centered Approach to Learning: direct or indirect with high and low technical approaches based on the student;" by evaluating where the student is, establishing expectations, personal goals, timelines, and evaluation. Some knowledge of English is required access to a computer with audio capabilities linked to the Internet.

Background

A Bachelor of Science degree with a teaching certificate working in schools and a variety of careers requiring the use of the English language and recently working with international university students from various countries provides me a unique insight on how to assist others to be more confident in assignments as well as prepare for the TOEFL exam.

Due to the nature of this subject being ESL my rate is subject to change based on a thorough evaluation of the student to establish a base of knowledge, additional development of material low and high tech, plus expectations and goals of the student.

Outsource IT specialist to a variety of businesses seeking solutions all the way from spam to accessing resources remotely, critical marketing, and human resource needs: Consultation on software options to enhance production and reduce time, marketing, maintaining servers, desktops, software installation, programming, support, backups, troubleshooting. Management and staff review of current policies, procedures, and business plans to collect data for input to specialized custom management systems.

Infuse, Calgary Alberta
Maximized Information Technology support to end users for desktops, printers, and software applications.

Designed, created, and implemented a database management system for a key home builder that reduced the time for building homes by 2 and sometimes 3 months, providing quicker time to bring the homes to market, and thus a 50% faster return on investment. Management was also able to ascertain which trades were of concern or performing well. So valuable was this to them that they requested it not be provided to other home builders in the area.

Reviewed with management goals and objectives for an advertising agency. Designed and implemented an evaluation process to select the best accounting solution, of which the solution required specific and unique reporting capabilities to government agencies.

Although they paid much more than they originally budgeted for, it was highly favored by management and accounting in a comprehensive comparison study to meet all their critical requirements. Installation and setup were included.

Setup and installed city-wide home security monitoring system for a major home security firm.
Resolved an environmental engineering management project need, through research that allowed flexibility for several companies under one umbrella, yet tracking tasks unique to each company, and department, without the expense, or need for Microsoft Project. The solution also was an open design solution allowing for additional creative needs in the various businesses.

Designed, created, and implemented a unique fuel consumption invoicing system that allows the fuel agent to better manage discounts, margins, and promotions, related to his customer base, while allowing for the porting of invoice results to the accounting solution.

AT & T, Law and Government Affairs, Chicago, IL (COMSYS)
Managed, serviced, and supported lawyers and their support staff, approximately 150 in Chicago, 50 in different supporting offices in North Eastern United States, traveling by air to major centers as required, and remotely to a select few in different states out West—all hardware and software.

Supervised IT staff in a major rollout of laptops, to replace all the desktops within a two-day period, which required a sizable IT staff and the management of the transfer of all key data and applications from desktop to laptop.

Assigned special responsibilities to work with attorneys outside our jurisdiction that were not pleased with their local IT support.

As an instructor and technical support manager, Installed, setup, configured all the centers’ servers, student and call center workstations, and monitoring of call tracking systems for telephone marketing, along with applications.
