About Naomi
Hello! I’m Naomi, and I’ve been helping students fall in love with maths for over seven years.
I believe that every student can succeed in maths - it’s all about finding the right approach, building confidence, and celebrating progress, one step at a time. My teaching style is patient, personalised, and positive. Whether you're just starting out, preparing for your GCSEs, or need a confidence boost, I’m here to guide you with clarity and encouragement.

At Kumon, I worked with students aged 4 to GCSE level, both in-person and online, and nothing beats the moment a tricky concept finally clicks. I believe in a structured, adaptive, and student-centred approach. My methodology is built on three core principles:
1. Diagnostic Assessment: I begin by understanding each student’s current level, strengths, and gaps through an initial assessment or informal discussion.
2. Personalised Progression: Lessons are tailored to the individual - using differentiated materials and pacing to match their learning style and confidence level.
3. Scaffolded Learning: I break concepts into manageable steps, use visual aids and real-world examples, and reinforce through practice and gentle correction. I encourage questions and foster a growth mindset, focusing on progress over perfection.
My standard online lesson is 60 minutes, which allows enough time for:
1. Review of previous material (5–10 mins)
2. Introduction of a new concept (15–20 mins)
3. Guided practice and problem-solving (20–25 mins)
4. Recap and setting independent work (5–10 mins)
For younger students (ages 4–7), I recommend shorter sessions of 30–45 minutes to maintain focus and engagement.
I have over seven years of tutoring and instructional management experience, including:
Acting Manager & Maths/English Tutor, Kumon (2014–2021) where I:
Managed a centre of 200+ students and oversaw 12 tutors.
Taught students aged 4 to GCSE level, both in-person and over Zoom.
Developed individual learning plans, marked work, tracked progress, and communicated regularly with parents.
