My teaching method is based on several techniques: mind maps, repetition and working through practise questions after each topic to consolidate the student's understanding. Despite having a general framework, I adapt my teaching method to each student based on their character; for instance, I will include more pictures and colour if the student is a visual learner. Furthermore, after each lesson, then a week later, and finally a month after, I will ask for a recall of the topic to move the information into their long term memory.
I am a student at Durham University reading Economics, Geography and International Relations. I have been tutoring for the past two years with a mixture of face-to-face lessons and online learning. Over the years, I have taught 20 students from 5 to 18-year-olds, who have flourished academically. Some students have received academic scholarships in school entrance exams, with others performing very well in GCSEs and A-levels who have progressed to their university of choice.
