My style of teaching blends the interests of my students’ needs with curriculum-appropriate methods. I engage students by being interactive, conducting brainstorming sessions and focusing on experiential learning. I believe that every individual deserves to be valued and recognized for 'who he/she is'. My pleasant disposition and effective communication skills have helped me in building a positive rapport with colleagues, students, and parents.
I can recount numerous rewarding experiences of being a teacher. One incident that stands out, in particular, was the use of Circle Time to emphasize the importance of Inclusion. I vividly remember that during one of my classes, a smart kid insulted a SEN (special education needs) student, as the SEN kid was not able to catch up with the group task. I conducted a Circle Time session to address the issue of Inclusion. I was successful in making the students realize that they must acknowledge and appreciate each other's skills and talents. The students helped each other not just in academics but also in co-curricular activities.
I know for sure that actions have a ripple effect, and the overall impact of my actions will be instrumental in inspiring my students to work for the betterment of the community.

From time to time, I evaluate and measure the impact of my work, particularly in terms of the difference made in the lives of my students. This helps me in not only assessing my own progress but also creating sustainable practices for the holistic development of the students.

Kanika ma'am is a person who can toe lengths to ensure that her students get the best of quality education. Her positive outlook towards the class not only encourages children to work hard but also push their limits and discover new boundaries , yes that's magic ma'am's presence has! Her unique and out of the box approach to Learning is something I have always adored, what she taught me as a teacher is that a good teacher might tell you the "right " path, but a great teacher opens room for deliberation on what is the true "right" and" wrong " and helps children discover their own interpretation of things.
A great communicator, and an even better teacher, Kanika introduced me to a new and fun filled world of literature and art that had been hidden from sight. Her open, cheerful nature and excellent teaching skills make her one of the best teachers I have known. It was a privilege to be taught by her.
Kanika ma’am is an excellent and extremely thorough teacher. Her commitment to the course and her passion for teaching are remarkable.
She was my high school literature teacher, and she always made classes more interesting and engaging. Every text we did was given an elaborate background and every symbolic event or meaning was given a variety of interpretations.
She is the kind of teacher that thoroughly researches a text before she teaches it but also is the kind that encourages student’s to interpret the text on their own and form opinions of the same on their own. I personally feel that by letting me write whatever I truly wanted to about the text in my assignments, she really helped me harness my own creative and literary potential and aided my critical analysis skill to develop. I remember a particular instance, when we were reading Arthur Miller’s Crucible, where we had a lively discussion on the symbolism of the persecution of witches in real life. I remember having a different opinion from that of my fellow class mates, but Kanika ma’am acknowledged it’s relevance and made me feel heard.
She really made me love her classes. Even when a text was dry and boring, she made it interesting by teaching it in a unique and fun manner. She made even the most disinterested students interested and her love for literature shone through every time she talked. For these reasons and more I highly recommend her as a trust worthy and great teacher.
I have known Kanika very closely as a colleague. We have served together for a period of over three years. Kanika is a highly dedicated and sincere teacher. It is very rare to come across teachers who breathe, eat and live for their students. Kanika is definitely one of them. She is loved by her students.
She is a fantastic colleague who is very supportive and trustworthy. One can fall back on her for any kind of work. She is a one stop solution to all your problems. She is a perfectionist and does not compromise on the quality of work. If you have her as your guide you can be rest assured that you will be able to sail through any kind of situation. If I would have my way I would definitely sit in her classes day after day.

She is a teacher who focuses on learning rather than “studying”. Her classes are always interactive and full of debate and diverse view points from everyone. She ensures participation and interaction in her lessons and can make even the most boring topics incredibly interesting.
This is a letter of reference for Kanika, whom I hired to teach English at The Heritage School Gurgaon in 2013. During my time at Heritage, I worked with Kanika not just in my capacity as head of the school but more closely in connection with my work with the English department, where I directly mentored Kanika in our experiential approach to pedagogy when she first joined the school.
I hired Kanika to join our English department at a time when we were building a team of progressive educators that would provide a balance of strengths and experiences. In Kanika's case, her background in media studies has been particularly beneficial as we adapt new modalities to the classroom context. Kanika has been open to innovative, research-based and more effective approaches to reading and writing that would incorporate skills not traditionally found in a CBSE curriculum. During her time there, she helped us identify new pieces of literature to supplement the traditional texts and to make writing tasks more relevant to the students' lives.
As a concrete example of her work with our students, Kanika integrated formal letter and CV writing skills into a college and career unit that also included statement of purpose and job interviews, ensuring that these otherwise staid formats became relevant and rewarding. Most importantly, given the intense need nowadays for students to develop independent research, critical reading and writing skills, Kanika has been instrumental in incorporating a thesis paper unit into each grade level, starting with 11th grade and working down to 8th grade. This critical strand is now embedded in our program.
In her position as a senior member of the department, Kanika was responsible for mentoring colleagues and demonstrating strategies. She has taught multiple age groups, most recently adding 12th grade to her repertoire. Kanika provides a rare combination of accessibility and firmness in her approach to working with young people. She is exceptionally clear in her presentation of complex concepts and in her evaluation of student writing, providing detailed feedback to help them improve.
Kanika is quick to absorb and implement new ideas but is also well grounded in key concepts and strategies that are pivotal to our profession now and in the future. I wish her all the best as she pursues higher studies and new opportunities.
She has been an absolutely amazing teacher who has so much knowledge to give you. Her friendly nature and calm demeanour makes learning not only seem easy but fun too. She has been a very understanding and at ease teacher. She would guide you and let you believe in yourself and make you feel that you’re good enough. Her approach to academics is not mere memorisation of concepts but to understand them and use the same in practical world. Having her as a teacher was an absolute pleasure.
Kanika is a devout teacher, listener and professional. She has in depth knowledge of her subject i.e. English. She is a perfectionist who puts her heart into every job that she does and has worked with diverse students including me, at one of the best Indian schools. She is great at establishing good rapport with students and is excellent in not only targetting their weak points through appropriate remedies but also enhance their plus points through miscellaneous activities.
I have known Kanika from my 11th and 12th grade of school. She taught me english and is actually the sole reason I enjoyed english literature. She made english classes very interactive and fun to be in. She always used innovative methods to keep us involved and make us understand concepts. I really loved being her student. She immediately gained rapport with students because of her friendly and easygoing nature. She is very determined and compassionate to teach. All in all, I would really recommend Kanika as a teacher.
