Working primarily with adult learners, lessons are catered to the English level and expectations of students. Whatever the motivation for improving English skills--whether for employment, for school, or for efficiency in every day tasks--students will be included in coordinating the course plan. We will work together to address desired areas of focus in reading, writing, listening, and/or speaking in English.
As most adult learners have many responsibilities to juggle between family, work, and other daily activities, many find the convenience and flexibility of Skype lessons to be an ideal fit for their schedules. Whether students are seeking a thoroughly structured writing course, or a conversational phone call to use the time during their commute, Skype offers effective tools to enhance the learning experience.
My philosophy: Our life experiences are a resource to draw from in any learning environment. Moreover, I believe teaching and learning are reciprocal activities.
Shortly after graduating with a B.A. specializing in Comparative Literature and Culture, I moved to Italy and spent several years there teaching ESL and preparation for English exams (IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC, etc.).
Returning to Canada, I have since continued to teach in these areas, also offering English for Specific Purposes courses (e.g., Business English) and preparation in Canadian exams (CELPIP, CAEL).
In addition to teaching at an accredited educational institution in Toronto, I work for a leading provider of online English language education, offering business and general English training to employees of corporations around the world.
Recently I have also returned to my own academic studies, pursuing a B.Ed. in Adult Education.
Other courses previously taught:
• in-company courses in ESL for the corporate environment.
• group courses in English for Journalism

• Ontario Secondary School Literacy Course
