I am a retired elementary school teacher with a degree in English. I have TESOL qualifications and have had varied experiences teacher ESL to youngsters. I have also a background in vocal music and dance. In my previous life, I was a nurse and taught nursing at the college level.
My husband and myself think that Nancy will be an absolutely wonderful teacher and asset to any student that she works with. She was our daughters music teacher all through elementary school, and her dedication, teaching style, praise and kindness was a big inspiration in our daughters life and continues to be till this day. She is a wonderful person and any child would be extremely lucky to have her as their teacher. Simply said, she would be an asset and whether the child is 4 or 16 they will have a teacher who is considerate, intelligent, kind and a strong woman who cares about the child, not just while teaching but after as well. My husband, our daughter and myself cannot say enough wonderful things about Nancy, she truly is a teacher who cares about their student and will be a blessing and asset to any teaching organization.

Nancy is a well known educator and I had the pleasure of knowing her a as fellow faculty member at Georgian College. She is compassionate, intelligent, and understands sound pedagogy. I highly recommend Nancy to tutor with your organization!. Yours, Steve McDonald, Lead Faculty, General Education, Georgian College, Orillia Campus.
I met Nancy when he visited my country about 4 years ago. Even though we are from different worlds, we connected immediately. This was in part because Nancy listened deeply! She did PDs with some of our teachers. They still talk about Nancy's sessions and passion for education to date.
Carol from Kenya.
Nancy taught both of our children, she is caring, kind, patient and compassionate. I trusted Nancy to take my daughter with her on a We Trip to Ecuador so I can honestly say that she is trustworthy. Nancy brought new experiences to both our children's lives through education, music and social justice. Nancy is an excellent teacher, she will make your child's learning experience fun. I would highly recommend Nancy as a tutor.
My name is Christopher Barassa, the President/Founder of Genesis Joy International Institute (www.genesisjoyinstitute.org) in Nairobi, Kenya.
Our project is located in the heart of the Mathare slums, the second largest slum in Nairobi, after Kibera.
Nancy came over around the year 2014 and spent although only one full day interacting with students through problem solving activities, enquiry activities and critical thinking proved to be wonderful lady.
I wish to wholeheartedly recommend Nancy for work in any position, as I know she will always be able to cope up with any challenges that may confront her in the course of discharging her duties.
Within a day in a slum, she proved to us to be tremendous and industrious with high esteem, tremendous initiative and commendable sense of responsibility.
She always avoided unnecessary controversies and misunderstanding.
I recommend her strongly!!
I have known Nancy both personally and professionally for a lot of years. As such I can recommend Nancy as the kind of person I would trust to do anything with people of all ages. She is caring, fun, skilled, experienced and hugely compassionate. Nancy would value and acknowledge the multiple perspectives and lived experiences of all learners and would be responsive to their individual learning styles. The best!
