About Talon
Hi, I’m a piano tutor with over 7 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music Education with a focus on Voice. My passion is teaching students how to feel the rhythm and let the groove lead the way. In my lessons, we dive into syncopation, steady pulse, and dynamic accents that bring music to life. I help students learn how to accompany singers smoothly, supporting vocals with tasteful chords and rhythmic patterns. We explore jazz voicings, chord extensions, and creative reharmonizations that add color and depth. Rhythmic variations keep each piece fresh and exciting, whether you're playing solo or with a group. From pop and funk to gospel and soul, I tailor lessons to fit your musical interests. In my piano lessons, I focus on helping students build both skill and expression. We start by developing solid technique, including hand position, finger strength, and relaxed movement across the keys. I guide students in reading music with ease, while also training the ear to hear subtle details. For those exploring classical or jazz styles, we dive into phrasing, dynamics, and tone control, bringing life to every piece.
I introduce composition basics, helping students create their own melodies and understand song structure. Through harmonic analysis, we explore how chords and progressions shape the emotion of music. Music storytelling is at the heart of my teaching, where every note carries meaning and connects to the listener.
I support each student with care, whether they need steady structure or space to explore creatively. Emotional touch and personal expression are always encouraged, allowing students to truly feel their music. My goal is to help every pianist grow into a confident, expressive artist.
