About Sergio

Welcome! I’m Sergio, an experienced Spanish teacher with a background as a university professor, researcher, communicator, and thesis advisor at the academic level. My classes are designed to be 80% practical and 20% focused on reflection and deeper understanding of the language and its cultural context. In every lesson, you'll gain tools that you can immediately apply — whether you're speaking, writing, or analyzing texts. Step by step, you’ll notice your fluency, confidence, and comprehension grow naturally. But more than that, I aim to create a warm, respectful learning environment — a space where you're not just acquiring knowledge, but also feeling supported, understood, and intellectually stimulated. Many of my students describe it as joining a learning community where growth feels both personal and shared. My teaching philosophy is simple: Learning a language should be meaningful, challenging, and deeply enjoyable. If you're interested in Latin American culture, we can dive into specialized themes such as the unique heritage of the Jesuit Missions in Eastern Bolivia: their architecture, art, language, music, history, and their broader cultural legacy. We can also compare them with similar movements across Latin America.

From grammar and vocabulary to academic writing or cultural exploration, I adapt each class to your needs and interests—whether you’re preparing for an exam, writing a thesis, or simply aiming to speak Spanish with more confidence and depth.
