As I most enjoy working with K-3 students I use a method that employs learning segments. I find that attention span is not great and in order to maximize my time with students a one-on-one approach is best as I find when students are fully engaged and excited I'm guaranteed that maximum learning potential is
being reached. I do read- a- louds, use visual aids and use a lot of repetition, as well as cutting edge software programs geared to the students needs.
I spent more than 18 years teaching children of all ages in Pre-school, hospital settings, and elementary school. I enjoy working with students in K-3 levels who need a student centered approach that inspires confidence and builds self-esteem. My teaching methods focus on visuals and proven methods that focus l leveled learning that enables the student to practice each concept become proficient and then move on and so build one upon the other. I appreciate that each student is unique with individual needs and thus a need to be flexible and able to adjust to changing needs and personality.
