About Mara

I am a Spanish tutor who loves the language and the many cultures that speak it. I understand that learning a new language takes time and patience, and I am here to help you every step of the way. My teaching style is energetic and fun, designed to keep you interested even when the grammar gets a bit tricky. I have travelled and lived in Spanish-speaking places, so I can share real-life tips that you won't find in a textbook.

I specialise in helping students who feel stuck to move forward and become fluent. I have helped many students get great grades in their exams and feel comfortable speaking. We will work together to find out what you find difficult and turn those things into your strengths. I want to create a relaxed space where you feel okay to practice and get better.

My mission is to open up the Spanish-speaking world to you. It makes me very proud to see my students start having real conversations and expressing themselves in a new language. About the lesson

My way of teaching Spanish is all about getting you to speak and understand the language, not just memorise lists of words. I focus on building a strong base in grammar so you understand how to build sentences yourself. I believe the best way to learn is to hear the language a lot, so my lessons include listening practice and real conversation that sounds like how people actually talk in Spain or Latin America.

We will work hard on your pronunciation so you sound natural and people can understand you easily. I teach you the words and phrases you will actually need in real life, like how to order food or ask for directions. We will practise acting out different situations, which helps you feel ready to speak without being afraid of making a mistake. I adjust the speed of the lessons to fit what you need, whether you are studying for a big exam or just getting ready for a vacation.

I am very committed to helping students who feel overwhelmed when native speakers talk fast. I will teach you strategies to pick out the important words so you can follow the conversation. We will also learn about the culture, movies, and music of Spanish-speaking countries to make learning more interesting. My goal is to turn you from someone who just studies Spanish into someone who can actually speak it with confidence.
