About Muriel
Hola! Welcome to Little Lingüistas! I am Sra. Manning and I would love to teach your child Spanish! I am originally from Honduras in Central America.
I have 14 years of experience as an elementary educator; having taught 6 years in the Spanish immersion classroom, and 5 years in the Bilingual setting. I've been in the regular classroom for the other three years.
I have a B.A. degree in Elementary Education as well as a M.A. degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). These skills easily translated into the Spanish classroom, where I've used my knowledge of second language acquisition very successfully. I am very excited for the opportunity to expand children's knowledge of languages.
In my classes I will do my best to engage your child to learn Spanish through various methods. It is my hope that your child will find the beauty in Spanish, and become proficient in a second language.

In my classes I do my best to engage your child to learn Spanish through singing songs, conversation, learning vocabulary, using basic American Sign Language, playing games, and taking part in skits.
A typical lesson plan includes a PowerPoint that takes us through all the above mentioned methods of instruction.
Lessons are for students in the Pre-K - Kindergarten grade levels. Students should not be shy about learning and practicing their Spanish.
