I strive to develop conceptual understandings with my students i.e. actually understanding and systematically solving problems rather than memorizing non-robust processes to solve them. I incorporate flexibility and patience in my teaching, and try to make content as practical and applicable as possible!
I am currently enrolled in the consecutive intermediate/senior teacher education program at Brock University; having previously graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) degree. I gained accreditation with a place on the Dean’s Honour List and with the University Senate Scholarship. I have experience in the construction and engineering industries having undertaken multiple co-ops as well as a full-time engineering role. l made the switch from engineering to teaching to pursue my life-long goal of becoming a teacher and I plan to bring my experience and passion into the classroom. With extensive tutoring and teaching experience at elementary, secondary and post-secondary levels, I am eager to continue helping students succeed, and making learning enjoyable.
