About Tyson

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering with minor concentrations in Spanish and Business from Louisiana Tech University and a Master's in Business Administration from the Leipzig Graduate School of Management (HHL) in Leipzig, Germany. I have worked for over 13 years as an Engineer and Project Manager on major oil and gas projects, both in the USA, as well as in Brazil, Mexico, Nigeria, the Congo, Germany, and Trinidad and Tobago. I've also worked as an English teacher in Brazil and as a Tutor / Supplemental Instructor for Undergraduate Engineering Calculus students. I still work full-time as an Engineer, but I have a passion for helping others to learn and develop themselves. I am based in Houston, Texas, and I offer both in-person tutoring for individuals or groups in the greater Houston area, as well as online tutoring for those not local to the Houston area.

About the lesson

Offering lessons and help for students of all ages and education levels. I can teach in English, Spanish, or Portuguese, depending on the needs of the student. I have worked and studied all over the world, from the USA to South America, Africa, Europe, and Southeast Asia. I love helping others to learn and improve their skills.
I strive to make lessons fun, engaging, and customized to the needs of each student. Whenever possible, I provide real life examples of how the material from the lesson can be applied. I like to start with a quick review of the material that the student is learning, then working with the student to ensure they understand the foundational concepts, and finally, working through examples to ensure that the student can appropriately apply the concepts.
