I will work with you to pinpoint the root of your struggles with a given a subject. Starting from there, we will explore the material with patience and curiosity, during which you will set the pace.
It is very important to me to always keep in sight the connection to the real world, and to make frequent links to things that actually interest you. Math and physics can be found anywhere, from plant biology to video games and from hockey to airplanes. In my experience, this encourages active participation and promotes a deeper understanding of the material.
Because you cannot learn math or physics without practice, I will carefully select homework problems to match your level and your interests. During sessions, we will discuss these problems and work through other examples to illustrate physical and mathematical concepts.
I prefer an informal and flexible structure, where you should feel free to interrupt me and steer the lesson into one direction or another. If more structure is needed, for example to prepare for a specific test or exam, we can set up a lesson plan and schedule together.
For virtual tutoring by webcam, I can use your choice of Skype, Zoom, Whatsapp or Jitsi. Sharing a virtual notebook, which is very important for working with equations and diagrams, can be done using the free version of Microsoft OneNote. It's useful, but not necessary, to have access to a tablet. I will contact you before our first session to work out these details and, if needed, help you with the technology.
One of our best! High-quality profile, qualifications verified and responds during the day. Moos will plan your first lesson with care.
With a PhD in Theoretical Physics under my belt, many years of academic research and several scientific publications, I have both a broad and deep understanding of math and physics that I try to share with all my students.
Aside from doing research, I have 6 years of experience as a teaching assistant, both in Canada and abroad, and I received highly positive evaluations from students and lecturers alike.
I am working also at the public library, running programs on scientific literacy and helping patrons with their inquiries. This means working with people from very diverse backgrounds with very different levels of education, something I find valuable in my tutoring work as well.
Lastly, I have been doing private tutoring and lessons for over a year. I am comfortable teaching any high school or undergraduate level physics, as well as math subjects like algebra, trigonometry, geometry, calculus and complex analysis. In addition, I can help with condensed matter and statistical physics at a graduate level, though I charge a bit more for that, as it requires a lot more preparation time.
If your plans change, please cancel at least 12 hours before the class starts. In case of last-minute cancellations, I will charge half rate.

Perfect! Moos teaches my son for the last six months. My son has autism and ADHD, so the teaching process needs many special approaches from the teacher, and Moos does a fantastic job. My son is waiting for the lessons, preparing homework, and is very excited about physics. I can highly recommend Moos!
Perfect! Willing to help you even if he has to relearn the subject. Knows complex mathematics!
Perfect! Moos is an excellent teacher! My daughter had him tutor her with first year university level Physics. She describes him as patient, kind, and gifted in the area of teaching. His ability to make difficult concepts easy to understand was a blessing!
Perfect! Moos is an excellent tutor, super knowledgable, listens well, caters to individual student learning styles, and definately has earned the status of a "super prof".
Perfect! Moos has helped me with everything calculus related while I upgraded my grade 12 grade. he has worked hard and has amazing patience with me while explaining old theories as I haven't done any math-related stuff for about 5 years. he has opened my eyes and helped me understand Calculus 12 not on a completion level, but more fully and has helped me think through every equation with a professor level of detail. I highly recommend this expertise and knowledge in any math-related subjects and I'm super excited to finish my calculus course with him throughout.
Perfect! I did one session with Moos. It went well, I ended up with 100% on the exam for the material we worked on together!
Perfect! Moos is very knowledgeable and patient tutor. He helped to my 12-th grade son tremendously with electromagnetism concepts. Highly recommended.
Denys's son is a good student with a real knack for math. At times it would be good for him to show more patience for really understanding the underlying physics, before jumping to applications. Being a little more organized about notes, homework, and other teaching material would be helpful as well. Still, it's a real pleasure tutoring him and my experience with him and his family has been nothing but good.
Perfect! Extremely helpful and knowledgeable tutor with detailed in depth knowledge of condensed matter physics. Sudhanshu was one of the best tutors I have used in a long long time. He was extremely helpful and knew a lot about numerous subjects. He seemed to care about his clients immensely and was willing to put in extra effort and work to help my achieve my goals. Sudhanshu knew the subject matter exceptionally well for my physics class. We went over my entire semester's course material for my upcoming exam. I highly recommend using Moos
Great student, very dedicated, asks good questions. He was patient with me when I had to look up information on some subjects and it was fun working together to understand some particularly tricky concepts. Would definitely work with him again.
Perfect! I contacted Moos two weeks before my final, asking him if he could help me understand the concepts and applications of my course. He was very helpful and answered every question I had in a way I could understand. The sessions I had with him completely changed the outcome of my exam. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a tutor.
Perfect! Moos is a patient, methodical, and well structured tutor. He saved me from certain failure on a electrical engineering math midterm. He even showed me a few new things on my scientific calculator I wasn't aware of.
Highly recommend !
I know Moos for a long time and he is fun to be with.
Moos is a very friendly, serious and competent teacher, he has an original and patient way of explaining things. His sense of humour and patience work for both adults and kids, I have witnessed him helping children with their homework on different subjects and the results were great.
Moos is eternally patient; if it doesn't work to explain it one way he will try another, and another. He is highly qualified though does not flaunt it, personable, and happy to work at whatever pace the learner wishes.
I've known Moos going on 7 years. He is exceptionally bright, demonstrated by extensive and in-depth knowledge on a wide range of subjects. Additionally, he is curious and possesses a willingness and ability to solve complex problems. He has a natural respect for others, is not judgmental and, regardless of his own apparent ease in learning, is both patient and empathetic towards others who may struggle to learn. I can't recommend him more highly as a teacher.
I know Moos for a very long time now. He is a natural born teacher. He has the gift to break down complicated stuff in all kind of different fields into comprehensible bits. When my daughter would come home complaining about school and not understanding a teacher, she would go to Moos. And in a very short time she would come out exclaiming "Oh! I get it! Why didn't he say so!", meaning the schoolteacher.
