I work with students in all years of high school (grades 9-12), but am certainly open to any younger students wanting to get a head-start in their STEM career!
I understand - physics and math can seem daunting with their many formulae and constants that all seem to get jumbled up. To prevent this from happening, taking inspiration from my wonderful teachers, I focus on developing an intuitive understanding of subject matter rather than trying to force its memorization. My tutees are presented with real-life situations in which they encounter physics and mathematics or their analogues, and from this they develop a foundational grasp of what the numbers are conveying. This leads to a deep comprehension of physical situations and word problems as well as the numbers through which they are communicated, and from there, picking out key information and solving a problem becomes second nature.
I pay close attention to my tutees' areas of improvement, whether they be methodological or related to a specific topic, and if need be, will rebuild from the ground up the strategies with which tutees face these weaknesses. I am also a firm believer that, second to developing intuition, practice makes perfect, and thus engage students in a multitude of practice problems that improve not only their understanding of a topic, but their working efficiency and problem-solving abilities.
In reality, you cannot entirely avoid the expressions and numbers fundamental to these subjects, but by learning them in an intuitive manner and applying what you have learned in practice questions, physics and mathematics will become as fun as they would have been challenging.

I recently completed the IB programme at Turner Fenton Secondary School in Brampton. During my time in SL Physics class, I served as a voluntary teacher's assistant who helped check through lessons, worksheets, and answer keys for quizzes and tests to locate mistakes and correct them. I'd always find myself helping out other students in school, discovering where students struggled the most and fostering a class which was interested and engaged in learning physics, rather than one that saw it as another arduous subject.
Having scored a 100% in physics, as well as a 99% in math, I decided I would continue using my skills over summer break to improve other students' understanding of, and performance in these crucial subjects.
I look forward to working with you!

Perfect! Gurman is an amazing math tutor. He is very smart and patient for my son. He instantly customized his teaching to accommodate my son's learning needs. My son really enjoyed his lesson.
Perfect! Gurman is very polite and patient young man. My son doesn’t like anyone to teach him but just taking an intro lesson , he himself agreed to take Monday to Friday lessons from Gurman. I highly recommend him for anyone needing help in Physics.
Gurshan is a fantastic student. From the get-go he has been extremely attentive, cooperative, and puts forth full effort during classes. Importantly, he is not afraid to stop and ask questions or clarify information, and this streamlines the process for both tutee and tutor. It's been a pleasure working with Gurshan, and I look forward to our future meetings!
Gurman is very knowledgeable in physics and explains concepts really well! For someone who went in knowing next to nothing about anything physics, Gurman was able to explain it in a way that I was able to truly understand. Highly recommend Gurman!:)
Gurman has a very thorough understanding of math and physical sciences and makes concepts very easy to understand. His patience and knowledge in these subjects during his lessons really helps you to understand.
