About Samuel
Hello I'm Sam! In 2014, I received my Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Art History with a Concentration in Architecture. In 2018, I received my Masters in Architecture from the City College of New York. I continued to work in this field up until last summer when I decided to make the transition to user experience design.
While I still work in the design realm, I have a tremendous amount of experience working with kids. In middle school, I provided babysitting services for a number of families in my synagogue, and in high school, I worked one-on-one with a middle school student concentrating on organizational skills and study habits. Several years later, I began working with K-8th grade students in math and study skills through an online platform and have continued to do so on an on and off basis.

My experience as a tutor ranges; however, I am most passionate about helping students with mathematics and organizational skills. The satisfaction of seeing the accomplished look on a child's face when he or she is finally able to grasp a concept with which he or she once struggled is truly amazing. I believe that
1. A tutor needs to match their student's energy
2. Children are incredibly perceptive so if they see that their tutor is not giving their full-fledged effort, they might not either.
3. It's important to try and keep things fun and light-hearted when possible. If a child views tutoring as a punishment for struggling or failing to keep up in school they might feel ashamed or embarrassed of their past rather than proud of what they are doing to make changes now.
