About Chidinma

My name is Chidinma and in January 2023 I joined Think Higher, an organisation dedicated to empowering and supporting young people to unlock their potential and make, bold, informed choices about their futures. I supported the development of a pilot project called The Belonging Project which was still in its conceptual stage at the time and required clear direction and design to ensure its success. My task was to help shape the programmes’ structure and content, deliver engaging mentoring sessions to ensure that the project could scale into a full programme with a long-term impact. I contributed by co-designing session content rooted in shared values. I worked collaboratively with the team, offering ideas and insight from my own lived experience and academic background. I built strong relationships with two schools and its participants to create a sense of trust and belonging. Following the launch of the project, I analysed feedback from the students and supported strategic planning to grow the project into an annual programme with an expanded reach. I worked closely with senior colleagues to refine our shared goals and ensure alignment with the students’ needs. I also sourced culturally resonant materials and designed interactive workshops, combining group discussions and exercises to maximise engagement. The Belonging Project has been very successful, and we received excellent feedback from the participants and schools. As a result, the project expanded to two more schools and more young people the following year. My work contributed significantly to this growth, and I was recognised by my manager for my strong work ethic, creativity and communication skills. This experience affirmed my commitment to inclusive education and demonstrated the strength in innovation and collaboration in overcoming systemic barriers.

About the lesson

I use presentations, discussions and worksheets tailored to meet your educational needs. Typical length of my lessons are 1-2 hours. I have 2 years' experience mentoring years 7 - 11 at an organisation dedicated to empowering young people to unlock their potential and make bold, informed decisions about their futures. My lessons are tailored for primary school aged children all the way up to A level.
