About Adriana

I am an English and French teacher, however during university I became interested in teaching Spanish since we had several international exchange partners.

So I studied a diploma in ELE (Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language) , I learned a lot about the methodology of the classes there, but I did not apply my knowledge until I was able to travel to France as a Spanish assistant, there I was able to put what I learned into practice and I had a lot of fun learning from my French students, the way in which they learned , the way they categorized the structures. I had students from 9 to 16 years old. It was 10 months of teaching that polished my skills as a teacher in the area of Spanish.

Later, when I returned to Mexico, I continued looking for opportunities to teach Spanish in other countries, and that is how I came to the Fulbright organization. I was one of the 5 chosen throughout Mexico to participate as a Spanish assistant in an American university.

I worked for 9 months at Gardner-Webb University where I lived with students from 18 years to 24/25 years, in different levels of Spanish.
I also had the opportunity to live with students whose mother tongue is Spanish but who do not practice it enough because they live in the United States. The main task with them was to polish their Spanish, gradually eliminate words taken from English and applied to Spanish and reinforce their cultural identity.

These experiences have given me a lot of knowledge in dealing with each one of my students, I recognize that each one is different and that their needs may vary, that is why I always look for the middle ground to achieve a good start and development in Spanish.
At the same time I have developed empathy for my students, since I know what your fears and insecurities are when coming up with ideas and speaking in Spanish.
I am a very patient teacher, that is why I can always explain the subject again and give several examples in case you do not understand the structure.

About the lesson

Having lived with foreign students has allowed me to create useful, fun and effective materials that facilitate the learning and reinforcement of the Spanish language.
I have identified which are the areas of opportunity in a French-speaking student and which are in an English-speaking student, but above all I know how to help them and guide them to a better pronunciation and a gradual understanding of Spanish.
Each session is taught In a fun and interactive way, since I work with online games and in real time that will allow a better development and learning of the structure to be learned.
I also enjoy giving Spanish classes that reinforce the culture of the language, so you will always learn something new culturally speaking.
Not only do I use online materials and games, but I also try to expose the student to a reality despite the distance.
I can work with teenagers, university students and adults who are really interested in starting, continuing and reinforcing their Spanish.
