About the lesson
My teaching methods are tailored towards the students' needs, I try to focus on maximizing students' strengths on learning new topics and try to tackle practice questions which enables students to gain confidence in their abilities. I also like to adopt a more hands on style with students driving the session on what topic they need most help with.

When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?
I developed an interest in tutoring in high school, where I joined a peer tutoring program and helped the younger grade students in math and science. I found it extremely rewarding as I began to strengthen my own concepts by teaching others and making new friends. During my undergrad degree, I was eager to continue tutoring. So right after my first year, I joined Dalhousie's tutoring program where I tutored first-year students in Chemistry and Calculus throughout my degree.
What makes you passionate about your subject?
I have always enjoyed Sciences and wanted to pursue a career in healthcare (and it makes me super happy that I am currently working in healthcare). I also love problem-solving and I find teaching is the best way to share my love for science with others and motivate young students to continue to be persistent in their field of interest.
What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?
I think my ability to adapt and stay flexible to the students' needs makes me a "Superprof". I channel my teaching style to the student's way of learning and try multiple approaches to make sure that my students understand the conceptual framework and then proceed to problem-solving examples to develop their confidence in the material.
Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.
Honestly, I have had great teachers throughout my learning experience. My biggest takeaways and observations from the teachers I've had is a) being approachable by adding humour and jokes during classes so that students enjoy learning and it also helps retain material longer, and b) making the sessions as interactive as possible so that students feel engaged, and c) being kind and patient recognizing that every student learns in a different way and being able to adapt to their needs.
What are your keys to success?
I love seeing the "aha" moments during my tutoring sessions. And for me, a successful class would be one that leaves my students feeling inspired and energized to further explore their subject and solve problems.
