About Grisel

Learning a new language can feel overwhelming—I know because I’ve been there. As a native Spanish speaker from the Dominican Republic, I had to learn English when I moved to the U.S., and I still use it every day. It was hard at first, especially without someone to practice with. Now, I’m also learning Italian, so I truly understand what it's like to be a language student. This personal experience helps me connect with my students and support them with patience and empathy. I create a safe, encouraging environment where you can make mistakes, ask questions, and grow at your own pace. As a K-5 Special Education Co-Teacher, I bring a professional and adaptable teaching style, so every lesson is clear, engaging, and tailored to your needs. About the lesson

As a tutor, I focus on creating a relaxed and supportive space where students feel comfortable speaking Spanish, no matter their level. I use conversational techniques, real-life scenarios, and cultural references to help students develop natural communication skills.

A typical lesson starts with a quick warm-up, followed by a guided conversation or vocabulary-building activity. We might also practice listening or pronunciation using music, videos, or role-play. Each lesson is tailored to the student's goals and interests.

What sets me apart is my background in both education and language. As a K-5 Special Education Co-Teacher, I bring patience, adaptability, and a deep understanding of how different students learn best. I also bring my culture and first-hand experience as a native Spanish speaker from the Dominican Republic.

My lessons are great for beginners, travelers, professionals, or anyone who wants to feel more confident having real conversations in Spanish. Whether you're in school or learning just for fun, I’ll meet you where you are and help you grow.
