The first thing I say to a student is that there are only twelve notes in music that you need to remember. As cynical as that may seem, I find it is the most effective way to help a student understand what it is that makes music so special. My goal as a teacher is then to show the student how to use these twelve notes to achieve the sound they want. Once that has been accomplished I begin focusing on the actual playing part, which involves showing the student what their learning curves will be and how they can master them.
For the past ten years I have been playing guitar and studying music. Over four years of that time was spent attending professional guitar, singing, and music theory lessons. Performing in front of audiences has been a lifelong passion of mine, and I take great enjoyment in helping others achieve the results they desire.
