I believe in instilling in every student that a knowledge of history is of vital importance to them as the key to understanding the way in which human beings shape the world around them, but I also believe in doing it in the most encouraging and engaging way. I don't expect students to know ahead of time, as a teacher I expect to enlighten, not lecture. I ask questions of the student and expect questions from them. I also encourage independent thinking and not taking everything at face value both in the past and the present.
I hold an BA Honours in History from Carleton University and am currently working on my Masters thesis, my historical interests include a little bit of almost everywhere and everything. I have experience TA-ing history to non-majors and human rights courses. I love to inspire a love of history.
