About Niamh
As a yoga instructor with 10 years of self-practice and meditation experience, I have been trained in Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Yin and Children's Yoga. These courses have taken place in India, Canada, and through online schools over a 10 year trajectory. I have experience guiding meditations, yoga nidras and breathwork exercises. As a published writer of nonfiction and self-discovery, I write regularly on the philosophy of yoga to explore how the deeper understanding of yogic traditions supports the physical practice on the mat and how this can be translated to life off the mat. I believe yoga is a journey that starts by connecting with the physical body on the mat. But this journey ultimately leads the practitioner deeper in other aspects and energies within themselves, to release blockages and become physically and mentally more empowered. The further and longer I walk on this yogic path, the more inspired I become by the world that yoga opens up. This sustains my passion and enthusiasm as an instructor. I'm privileged by the fact that I can keep sharing and guiding others on their own unique journey. I hope to meet you there!

I incorporate asanas, pranayama, meditation and relaxation into each class. I focus on teaching through demonstration and detailed cues, guiding the practitioner to connect with their breath, thereby harnessing the power and control over their own breath. This approach this leads the practitioner deeper into the practice, it increases awareness of the physical body, and allows mental and physical tensions to be gradually released.
