About Kate
I am passionate about Ancient History and Archaeology and have extensive knowledge about specific periods and timeframes that may be applicable to individuals in years 10-12.
I received a band 6 (94) in Ancient History, also in conjunction with a band 6 in Advanced English (92).
I am a keen teacher who will allow for personal study styles to be developed that allows for ease when I am not around.
I am also able to tutor those who are outside of school with an interest in History or those in the younger years of high school trying to develop skills and knowledge in this area.

My preference to is to teach in person, as it allows for deeper engagement and understanding.
The lessons would usually go for 1 hour but can be extended at the request of the student.
I finished my Year 12 education at 3rd in my cohort (of 50) and received a band 6 and rank of 94.
My lessons would be applicable for Years 7-12.
I have an extensive knowledge of Pompeii and Herculaneum, Ancient Egypt (Amenhotep III - Ramesside Period, but am more than happy to develop knowledge in other periods) and Mesopotamia.
I would instil the importance of developing a knowledge of both primary and secondary sources and the understanding and use of languages from the period being explored (Pompeii = Latin).
