Since I was young I was an enthusiastic reader of great works of literature in Spanish. My father was a proof-reader and writer in a newspaper. I helped him on certain occasions. However, I decided on a civil engineering degree. In this field I was professor of several university subjects and director of engineering in two Dominican universities.
My teaching methodology is based on knowing the student first. I must determine his/her needs and his/her best way of learning: visual, listening, associating, repeating, etc. I achieve my goals when they LEARN, not when I think that I have TAUGHT.
I have taught university classes for more than 10 years.
In that period of time I have had the pleasure of teaching effectively to more than 3,000 students.
Most of my former students are now colleagues and have expressed their satisfaction with what they have learned. But I have also received lessons from them. One of the greatest lessons learned was, in my early years of teaching, when a young student told me that there was a lack of information in the material I was offering. From then on I have been much more careful with my teaching material.
I am currently a Registered Professional Engineer in Alberta (APEGA), I have a Master's Degree in Structural Engineering, a Certificate in Construction Management and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
