I teach primarily classical piano and music theory. During a typical lesson we will explore technical patterns to promote coordination and dexterity, learn to play melodies and harmonies by ear, and build your music reading skills. Motivation is key, so I work hard to help students find music they love and adapt it to their level of ability.
Overall, I like to plan my lessons to cater to the individual student's needs. This ensures that they make progress while maintaining interest in music. For example, I usually listen to what piece my student wants to play on the piano and I teach them that piece, while focusing on the technical aspects that the student can learn from.
The student who will benefit most from these lessons is someone who has the drive to look deeper into harmony, rhythm, melody. Someone who loves music theory but is having trouble understanding the language.

I use the RCM syllabus for the basis of my lessons. It progresses at a good pace for most students. If you are more into playing pop for fun, we can do that too! Again, RCM has a great pop selections list for piano that I suggest working from once we get to that level. Guitar classes always start out with note reading to help you learn the fret board.

Hi guitar players! Are you someone who loves rock music and aspires to be great rock guitarist? I can help you reach your musical goals with my teaching methods and approach to the instrument.
The first thing I say to a student is that there are only twelve notes in music that you need to remember. As cynical as that may seem, I find it is the most effective way to help a student understand what it is that makes music so special. My goal as a teacher is then to show the student how to use these twelve notes to achieve the sound they want.
I teach my students on a case-by-case basis with no set plan, forming each student's lesson plans around their goals, experience level, and technical/repertoire needs.
My approach is structured but flexible to the student's needs and pace. I use imagery and drawings often. The music I teach is a mixture of classical and folk. The end goal is whatever the student and myself set at the beginning, whether it's to be able to play five pieces or to be able to perform.
My classes are well structured and I have flexible hours. A typical class would be divided into segments composed of the various important aspects of musical education. The class would start with music theory, giving the student the basic principles of music upon which to build, followed by technical drills, and ending with applying this knowledge to the pieces of music the student will learn.
Lessons are fun and can lay the foundation for creativity and a love of music, or challenging and promote musicianship and mastery. I make sure the goals of the student are the main focus, while tying to open doors to new areas of interest.
First of all I begin by assessing your current skill/level with the guitar. Then creating a comprehensive plan of things to learn and practical exercises. A typical class would consist of learning musical/guitar theory, learning chords and later incorporating those into songs.
