I prefer teaching with chalk-board rather than a power point. It is because I like to draw, move around the class and explain with flow charts etc. I believe it gives me more freedom in communicating the knowledge to the receiver. I usually have hand-written notes of myself, so I can explain the concept in step-wise manner.
For all students, I first will want to find out what their goals are and what prior training they have. This can be via an online conference or possibly via phone. I will want to assess current abilities by seeing a sample of written work (ESL) or having a conversation. I will work with students online to start improving vocabulary and comprehension.
I tailor my lessons to the needs, strengths, and abilities of my student. I structure my teaching around the learning objectives or materials which would be tested on. I will also go over materials which would further strengthen understanding of class material.
I have approached tutoring the past with both direct teaching and Socratic methods. I have worked in a peer tutoring setting at Western University to help others with specific homework problems or with the development of note-taking/study skills.
My teaching methods include a multi-faceted approach focusing on visual and verbal learning, using diagrams and demonstrations to allow students to reach the best understanding they can. I use real life examples and 'fun facts!' to keep students engaged and interested in their subject.
My teaching technique is pretty simple, which is illustrating my words with common things that are available in our environment. However, this might be slightly different among students. So, my first job is to detect how best my student assimilates things.
I build upon school curriculum to help students fully grasp a topic and complete school assignments. I am patient, encouraging, and always willing to try new methods to explain concepts. Different people learn best in different ways, so I try to tailor my tutoring style to each student.
I adjust my classes to to student needs. I can teach structured lectured classes with a complete curriculum or I can focus on specific tutorial needs, such as coverage of specific topics or methodologies. I have over 15 years of experience in the biotechnology industry in giving presentations to explain company science to potential clients and collaborators. I enjoy teaching and am good at it.
- Tutorat pour les élèves du secondaire en Science et Technologie (1er, 2e et 3e cycle). - Tutorat pour l'univers vivant (biologie, écologie), univers matériel (Chimie, Physique) et Terre et espace.
I am a Biology learner and teacher and interested to teach Biology, Biotechnology, cell biology, molecular biology, genetics to high school and college students. My teaching method mainly focusses on visualizing the content I teach through various modes and involving the students in interesting subject related activities.
Mnemonics, learning tools. And or according to the student.I can explain the subject in a comprehensive way. Or just quick reviews which can be helpful just before exams. I like to motivate students to be better. And strongly believe in the power of positivity.
My teaching methods are illustration through examples ,videos and diagram. I tend to illustrate and explain topics by bringing the scientific ideas with life examples which makes students remember the lessons through their whole lifes. Using menomonics as well for some points where the student can list the items by remembering just one word in no time.
I will work with you to understand what type of a learner you are. Then we will learn new things and review old things in creative ways that are custom-made for your brain! This can include a mix of skit-making, painting, whiteboards, models, lego, quizzes, etc.
My teaching methods are flexible since I understand that everyone learns differently. I can include many visuals in my classes, make it more hands-on and include text, as required. I like to integrate details into the bigger picture of the topic at hand. I feel that this improves memory and understanding.
My teaching methods is simple. I focus specifically on tackling the questions students have and trying to solve those problems in fun and innovative ways. With this focus, I am able to work with students at different academic levels.
My method of teaching is through constructivist teaching methods that embrace subsets of alternative teaching styles, including modeling, coaching, and test preparation through rubrics scaffolding. All of these are designed to promote student participation and necessitate a hybrid approach to teaching.
I like to base my tutoring on textual, visual, and kinesthetic learning methods, to offer a variety of ways to learn, as we all learn differently. I also like to include practical application of lessons to solidify key concepts into the mind of my students.
I think that students easily learn through simplified methods. I never hesitate in taking help of today's greatest tool i.e internet to teach things(animations and images). I teach basic concepts first and then move to the complex theories. You will never forget a concept if it is taught with logic and examples, and that is what I am for.
I recently completed my Masters in cellular mechanisms that cause Asthma. I have experience tutoring individuals of all ages and levels of biology. If you are a university student I can help you with biology, biochem and all upper level human biology courses.
Ever looked back on past exams and wondered : "how come I didn't understand this or that the first time around? It was so simple!" Don't let current frustrations get in the way of achieving your goals and dreams. Together, through practice and patience, we'll brake down the material for it to become simple, intelligible, and easy.
I prefer to teach classes via skype/an online platform where I teach one-on-one using various resources e.g. diagrams, pictures, doodles, videos, and easy to understand analogies. I can best teach students from Gr. 9 - 2nd year for Biology, and any level student for Nursing.
My teaching methods change according to individual student requirement. A typical class would cover objectives of the lesson, explanation of the theory and concepts, an activity to check understanding and summary of the lesson. I tutor students from grade 9-12.
I use a combination of teaching with notes, asking questions and quizzes. Asking questions and filling out quizzes helps students to realize where their knowledge gaps are, and then we can study together to ensure that their understand the concepts that will be in the exams.
I believe in a student centered approach. Every student is unique in his or her own way. Their teaching style should be the same. To ensure the student is getting the best possible learning experience. Every student learns differently.
Well, I don't have a particular approach for tutoring. And that is because I feel every child is different. The strategies used for a particular concept varies from student to student. Using Audio-Visuals have proved to be one of the best way to teach a particular topic. They say, "We hear, we forget. We see, we remember. We do, we understand". That is the biggest mantra for teaching.
I adapt my teaching methods in function of the Student I have. I believe No One is a 'dummy'.
My tutoring style completely depends on the student and their learning preference. One thing I learned quickly by tutoring multiple students at once is that not everyone learns the same way. While some students like verbal explanations to a problem or idea, other students prefer visuals, like pictures and charts, or 3D models and clay.
My teaching methods are: 1. Student led teaching by using graphic organizers. 2. `NO OPTING OUT' and 'COLD CALL' to ensure attentiveness and participation in discussion by each child in the class. 3. Usage of minimal invasive correction technique : non verbal corrections.
My teaching methods are very hands-on. I am a strong believer that learning is best accomplished through interactive approaches. I encourage positivity to students within my classrooms. I also create a comfort level with my students so that they can easily approach me with questions or doubts in their academics. Overall I am an amazing mentor to my students.
I approach my students with an individualized mentorship approach. I believe that a significant part of grasping a difficult subject is developing the self-confidence to get creative and approach problems in new ways, secured in a fundamental understanding of concepts; life skills that will open up their future.
