My methods for teaching will differ from student to student, to start a class I usually would like to get an understanding of what the student knows prior to the session, then start from there and base the class from that.
I approach a subject by understanding and evaluating the current skill level of the student and start my classes accordingly to make the student feel confident about the progress. I decide on the topic for the next day and make sure both I and the student are well prepared with the ground work so that we could concentrate on the content during the class.
