Hello Student :) Welcome to my profile! I have two degrees relating to literature. My first is a 2:1 BA (Hons) in English Literature, and, the second is my Master's Degree in African Studies (majority of which concerned African Literature, including literature from America and the Caribbean).
I am a enthusiastic and friendly humanities tutor who has recently graduated from Oxford University. I really enjoy being able to assist students who might benefit from a more personalised teaching experience, and finding the motivation required for students to perform at their highest ability.
We will review all texts and methodology of the comment. We will train the dissertation and writing of invention according to the preferences of the student.
As an MA in Linguistics, I teach high school students, college students and adults through a combination of dialogue and hands-on activities. My lessons are a conversation rather than a lecture. I teach through a combination of kinesthetic, visual, and auditory methods.
I am a Philosophy and Literature graduate currently currently undertaking a Creative Writing MA at Royal Holloway and in the process of having my first novel published. Working with students on creating quality fiction, developing academic essay structures and furthering text analysis abilities, I like to foster a serious passion for the processes.
I am a graduate with a passion to teach and inspire others through my specialist knowledge in both Art and English. Working as an arts Ambassador for the university, creating tutorials and volunteering as a workshop assistant gave me the opportunity to teach various age groups. This has inspired me to pursue a career in teaching and private tuition.
My name is Morgan Bernard. I run a student travel company. I graduated with a Bachelors degree in history from Sewanee: The University of the South. I am a freelance writer for various publications. I can tutor any History or English course.
I am a 22 year old freelance playwright and theatre director, currently working with London producers. I established my own production company during my degree and am now working to help develop the skills of others. I am enthusiastic about teaching and like to lead practical and creative sessions as I believe this helps students retain the information they have learnt.
I am a student of Master's in Creative Writing at Northumbria University with a Bachelor's degree in English Literature from India. I give lessons in English, grammar, reading, writing and Literature. My lesson structure is generally simple and precise with instructions about grammar and writing techniques.
I have a Master of Arts in English from University of Alabama in Huntsville and a Bachelor of General Studies in Cultural Studies from University of New Orleans. I am working on a TEFL certificate from Teflen College. I teach English grammar and essay writing to those new to English and to those who need extra help. I love teaching and helping people express themselves creatively and effectively.
My name is Robin Gadsden. I am an adjunct professor at various colleges and universities in New Jersey. I have taught college writing and writing composition. I have also taught introduction to literature which is a part of writing composition.
I am a consultant who works with children of varying ages with specialized educational, social, and behavioral needs. My teaching style and methodology encompasses lectures, hands on projects, use of positive reinforcement, encouragement for reluctant learners, active student responding, guided notes, remedial remedies, and incorporating fun and humor in lessons.
My general area of research is in teaching French and Francophone literature and grammar in a second language context to adults but I have also a four year experience in teaching French as a foreign language and a seven year experience in teaching techniques of expression including rhetoric and communication. No annoyance in the classroom, neither for the students, nor for the teacher.
I encourage creative expression and abstract thinking through brainstorming and discussion. I give constructive correction with grammar and structure and aim to improve a student's ability to communicate by expanding vocabulary and critical thinking skills. I provide suggestions for more effective writing without undermining the voice and intention of the author.
I have two Bachelors' degrees in English and Spanish, and take great interest in the study of languages. With years of experience as a manager, trainer and developer in the business world, I know the importance of having a patient and detail oriented approach that emphasizes clear feedback and a positive attitude.
I aim to achieve not only steep improvement as a result of my lessons, but also to instil a lasting passion for the subjects I teach. My literature tutorage is suitable primarily for GCSE and A Level students, however I can provide lessons in creative writing and visual arts for aspiring artists of any age (based upon an extremely contemporary approach).
My teaching methods change depending on who I am teaching. For example, when teaching school pupils I tend to follow their school's curriculum in order to provide a useful and practical service that benefits them the most. I give lessons to anyone studying for GCSE, A Level or anything else under a degree level. These are always 1-1 sessions, that go over current lessons in greater detail.
My teaching method is thorough with plenty of opportunity to research content. I apply a structure that addresses theory, content, creative writing, and literary and language devices. I aim to track and ensure development through both formative and summative assessment.
My way of teaching can be very various. It will teach according to the theme and methods that the student will find best. Usually I start with some theory, then we go to the practical part. This can be varied but simple and easy to learn. All pupils from secondary schools or MBO are welcome.
I am able to give lessons to GCSE students and anyone below this level. I base my lessons on the specification used in the lessons the students are taught at school enabling them to achieve higher grades and to enjoy the subject even further.
I base my classes around specific texts, catering to the students needs, focused around close reading and interpretation. I would produce small presentations for each student focusing on their specific needs so maximum learning can be achieved through my tutoring. I can provide general literarcy and grammar teaching if needed also.
My methodology for teaching is dependent on the learning ability of the student. In order to frame a productive methodology, I have to access each student and her/his individual understanding capacity.
What works best for the student. Online or face-to-face sessions works for me. I'm good at reviewing drafts and getting you the perfect paper for submission. Can also assist in guiding you on how to start off.
I assist students that are struggling with specific aspects or tasks (presentation, speech, essay). The students bring their problem to the table, and we work together to solve the issue. Lessons are usually an hour long, and we use Skype, and email to exchange documents and send annotated copies of work.
I generally prefer teaching subjective grammar which helps in the gross understanding of grammar and its function. My general aim is to make the pupil approach language with a confidence. I have a pre-hand experience of teaching pupils of all ages.
I will prepare some questions/online worksheets before each lesson, given that I've spoken to the student beforehand about what kind of topics they are having the most trouble with.
My teaching is methodologically individualized: I teach to the student's need, depending on age, background, and objective. Generally, though, if you want to learn to write better, it is useful to read as much as possible and as well as possible. Writing requires practice and patience, but it also requires soaking up good writing. We read, we write, we live.
As somewhat of a perfectionist, I ensure this attitude is adopted by those I teach. My teaching method is one whereby I explain tasks at hand as well as what is expected from the learner. Having done this, I then listen to and acknowledge their ideas before nurturing them to be the best they possibly can.
I like to prepare my lesson plans way before and i try to make studies as fun to the students as possible by introducing audio visual methods. I try and communicate with the students and thus get well aquianted to their problems.
When I tutor I like to create a unique, custom lesson based on your needs. I give my students a chance to solve problems and come to the answers on their own under my guidance. Opinions are invaluable in English and while I can help with structuring and presentation I believe with any teaching requirement your ideas can be expressed in a valid way.
