Charmaine doesn't have a specific teaching method, because she accommodates how she teaches according to the student's interest. She loves to teach little children, but she is mainly what you could call a piano tutor. She helps with whatever the students want to work on.

The schedule of lessons depends on the goal and the level of the student. Usually, the beginning of the class will be focused on technique. This will allow the students to warm up before playing their repertoires. If students have the ability, they will be given an opportunity to perform at a recital, prior to their goal.

If the student has music they wish to work on I prefer to work on that. Otherwise, I will teach them classical, jazz, and pop songs. I will teach them theory and scale and chord patterns alongside the songs to give context for their use.

I like to give lessons to children and I have always chose this category because I know how to deal with children and I can relate to children while teaching them so they can learn fast and with a bit of fun.
My teaching methods combine what I learnt from Italian bel canto, Vienna vocal techniques, and New York Broadway singing skills. I teach with imagination, anatomy, and body moves and gestures depending on each student's need and what helps most to achieve the goal as well as successfully exploit the technique required at the moment.
I am able to teach all ages and levels but elementary students enjoy my lessons the best. A typical lesson with me consists of a warm-up, a piece of the students choice (i.e. pop song), and their RCM repertoire.
