If the student has music they wish to work on I prefer to work on that. Otherwise, I will teach them classical, jazz, and pop songs. I will teach them theory and scale and chord patterns alongside the songs to give context for their use.

I teach Beginners Only. I teach persons between Level 1 or Grade 1 and Level 3 max or Grade 3 max. For piano or guitar your fingers must be big enough so minimum starting age is 5 years old. I teach the basics first: how to read music, technique, learning to play songs. I demonstrate and then have you perform exercises and songs during my class. I provide homework after each class for the week.
I structure each lesson based on the student's goals and interests. I usually focus on Repertoire, Studies, Technique, and Ear training to prepare for the RCM exams but I am also happy to work on any particular styles of music students may be interested in such as pop music. For music theory, I teach Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Rudiments.
