My entire approach to arts and creative education is to help you gain a life long hobby that will bring you happiness. Creativity is everywhere and everyone has it in them so lets find it in you.
My teaching methods are discipline with what you eat and drink, examining a song, knowing the parts and perfecting the song
My classes are based on the individuals needs and desires. You decide what you want to get better at, and I will help you there. My methods are flexible too, using breathing, vocal technique and somatic exercises to achieve our goals.
The schedule of lessons depends on the goal and the level of the student. Usually, the beginning of the class will be focused on technique. This will allow the students to warm up before playing their repertoires. If students have the ability, the will be given an opportunity to perform at a recital, prior to their goal.
First I would make sure your technique is right, and to focus first on bow technique so that playing is easier. I recommend investing in a bow before a body for that reason, as all the control really stems from the bow for controlling the volume. This will include understanding the complex nature of the bow itself.
I let my student sing and I see where they need improvement and help them to be the best they can while still having fun!
My methodology depends on each individual student. I like to make sure that the student is having fun while still building skills and musicianship. Depending on the level of student, I am either very hands on, or take a step back to allow personal growth without too much micromanaging.
My methodology is based on practice and application. The first part of the lesson focuses on an area of development (i.e. drills) then applying those skills in learning a song. I focus on building confidence and releasing tension through singing.
I teach my students on a case-by-case basis with no set plan, forming each student's lesson plans around their goals, experience level, and technical/repertoire needs.
I base my classes on the goals of the student.
