My teaching philosophy is to take a student centred learning approach, first I like to understand how you learn and then I can tailor my lessons around you to give you the optimal learning environment. In a lesson setting, I like to discuss sources of inspiration, personal challenges and how to practice smart in order to achieve your goals. I'm very approachable and I believe that I am here to help you improve in whatever you want to improve in so we can work together to figure out what that is!
Fundamentally, I am a cellist however, I also play piano and flute, and study advanced harmony, composition, and music history. I have experience writing songs, tutoring music theory, and teaching all three instruments mentioned above. I am very passionate about the arts and would love to spread that passion to you! While I study classical music, I like to write indie music and play folk cello. As far as theory goes, I scored top 1% in Ontario's Advanced RCM theory tests and have been taking classes such as harmony, advanced harmony, composition, and ear training throughout my university degree as an honours music student at Bishop's University
