About Kirsty

Hello! My name's Kirsty. I was born and bred in the UK. After completing my degree and teaching qualification at a University in England in 2012, I moved to Galicia, Spain. This move not only provided me with valuable teaching experience but also taught me what it was like to be a language learner. I arrived with zero knowledge of the Spanish language, so I recognise how difficult and rewarding learning a foreign language can be!

I fell in love with the beauty of Galicia and spent an enjoyable 9 years living and teaching in the region. However, in 2022, I made the decision to move back to the UK to be closer to my family, where I have continued teaching online.

I thoroughly enjoy teaching and interacting with people from around the world. Travel is one of my biggest passions and I love to learn about new cultures. I would describe myself as a social, active and fun-loving person. I love everything outdoor related; from walking my dog in the woods to camping holidays.

I hope you will enjoy my lessons as much as I love teaching them! I look forward to our first class!

About the lesson

As a language learner myself, I recognise and appreciate the difficulties language learners face. I therefore have a relaxed, supportive and encouraging manner. You never need to be fearful about making a mistake; in fact, I believe that mistakes are a vital tool in learning.

I like to make my lessons fun. All too often, "learning" appears to synonymous to "boring" and "hard-work." I endeavour to make all my classes as interactive and communicative as possible. No matter what your age, I like to incorporate games and an element of fun into all my lessons.

My classes are always unique; I adapt my lessons to meet your needs! I love getting to know my students personally, as well as academically and I enjoy personalising my lesson; so expect to see pictures of my dog whilst I'm teaching animal related vocabulary!
