About Nik

I am a first-year criminology student at the University of Portsmouth; I am interested in passing on my knowledge to anyone who would like to learn Russian or, who has a passion for learning foreign languages. I come from a Russian/Moldavian family and have been speaking Russian all my life. Additionally, I have worked hard to achieve my A in my A-level in college and would like to be able to help others achieve the same results.

About the lesson

My teaching method is to start with learning simple everyday phrases like for example: Hello, how are you? and I am called... This is in order to get a familiarity with how to pronounce the words phonetically with the right punctuation as Russian is a phonetic language and it easier to demonstrate it whilst speaking then having it written. This is based on how my parents taught me Russian when I was a child and is one of the best ways to learn the language.

Then once we have learned simple phrases then we will advance to more things like how to conjugate words correctly in the correct tense and with the right gender as Russian can get quite technical when it comes to its grammar. But no need to worry that will come with time.

I am quite easy going and very approachable so if you have any questions or queries please feel free to ask during the lesson. My target audience is anyone from secondary school through to university students who are wanting to and are willing to learn Russian.

As this is my only source of income as a student, my cancellation policy is that if you do not inform me that you are unable to come to the lesson 24 hour before the lesson then I will, unfortunately, be unable to refund your money back.
